Uzbek Ambassador to Malaysia met with President Perdasama
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 31 May 2019 Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Malaysia Ravshan Usmanov met with the President of the Association of Malayan Entrepreneurs and Industrialists (Perdasama) Matshah Safuan.
Perdasama was founded in 1998 and its members are more than 16 thousand industrial and trading companies. The association has 16 branches in all states of the country. Perdasama’s main activity is to assist its members in identifying foreign partners for investment projects and trade and financial transactions. The association also has its own special fund for financing promising projects initiated by member companies.
During the conversation, issues of further development of mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment cooperation were discussed. The Malaysian side was informed about the ongoing large-scale economic reforms in the republic, including monetary policy, free economic zones, favorable conditions for doing business, as well as benefits and preferences for foreign investors.
Following the negotiations, the following agreements were reached:
- organizing a video conference between representatives of Perdasama and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan to identify possible areas of cooperation;
- consideration of the possibility of organizing a visit by the leadership of Perdasama and the member companies of the Association to the republic for a joint business forum with the CCI of Uzbekistan, including in the B2B format, as well as the signing of a corresponding document on establishing mutually beneficial partnerships
- study of the prospects for the implementation of investment projects in the construction of hotels, fruit and vegetable processing and others, the development of cooperation in the organization of the export of fruits and vegetables to Malaysia.
