Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 July 2022, in Moscow, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Norov met with Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin.
The trend of significant intensification in recent years of Uzbek-Russian inter-parliamentary relations and exchanges was noted with satisfaction, which contributes to strengthening the relations of strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries.
The importance of the active participation of the legislative bodies of the two countries in the implementation of agreements at the highest level and the wider use of the possibilities of parliamentary diplomacy was emphasized.
The readiness of the parties to further deepen cooperation within the framework of international inter-parliamentary organizations was reported.
The Russian side was familiarized with the ongoing work in Uzbekistan to introduce changes and amendments to the Basic Law, the main directions of the Constitutional reform and the course of public discussion of the reforms.
