Uzavtosanoat explains the reason for the suspension of the construction of the automobile plant "Peugeot" in Jizzakh

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – French Peugeot Citroen Automobiles S.A. delayed the project on construction of the plant on production of commercial cars in Jizzakh region.

On 13 June 2017, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On the establishment of an enterprise with foreign investment “Uzbekistan Peugeot Citroen Automotive ”. The plant should be launched in the free industrial zone Jizzakh.

However, this order of the President has not yet been executed. It was planned that the factory UzPCA will be produce minivans Peugeot Expert and Peugeot Boxer minibuses.

“I can not answer this question. This is not in my competence,” Rustam Kadirov, head of the Uzavtososat strategic planning department, said. - This is a matter of bilateral agreements. One of the parties is a French company that acts as a partner for this project. And the problem of delay is related to them.”

On 16 May 2017, Uzavtosanoat announced the signing of an agreement with the French company Peugeot Citroen Automobiles S.A on the creation of a joint venture in the form of a limited liability company Uzbekistan Peugeot Citroen Automotive with a capital equivalent of 29,3 million euros.
