Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Since December 2024, UzAuto Motors Powertrain has been exporting CSS Prime cylinder blocks to Latin American countries. The total shipment volume has reached 40,000 units worth US$4.9 million.

This success was made possible by the company’s significant production expansion in 2022, when it launched the CSS Prime assembly line. Built with General Motors technology, the facility produces modern naturally aspirated and turbocharged 1.2-liter engines for Chevrolet Onix and Chevrolet Tracker models. These engines fully meet modern requirements in terms of fuel efficiency, power, and reliability.

This achievement stems from the company’s consistent development strategy and investments in advanced manufacturing technologies. Back in July 2012, UzAuto Motors Powertrain began serial production of second-generation B-DOHC gasoline engines with 1.2 and 1.5-liter capacities. These powertrains, now installed in Chevrolet Cobalt (and previously in Spark, Nexia 3, and Gentra models), offer an optimal balance between performance and fuel economy.

Continuous modernization of the company’s technological base has also played a vital role in its success. Notably, the plant introduced a high-pressure die casting (HPDC) line that enables the production of high-precision aluminum cylinder block castings. For cylinder head production, a gravity casting method is employed, ensuring structural strength and stability. All machining processes are carried out using CNC (Computer Numerical Control) equipment, guaranteeing precision and compliance with international standards.

It is worth noting that UzAuto Motors Powertrain is a unique manufacturing facility in the region and the only plant in Central Asia to carry out the full cycle of engine production — from casting aluminum components to final machining and assembly. This integrated approach significantly reduces logistics costs and keeps production expenses 10–20% lower than at similar enterprises in other countries.

Thanks to these advantages, UzAuto Motors Powertrain products successfully compete in international markets and meet global standards.

An additional strength is the use of local human resources and energy supplies, which minimizes dependency on external factors and reinforces the economic resilience of both the enterprise and the country as a whole.
