UWED hosts UN Model 2014

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A student conference UN Model titled “Uniting efforts in fighting illegal narcotics turnover” was held in Tashkent, which was organized by the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) in cooperation with the UN Information Office.

The conference united 124 students from UWED, Westminster International University in Tashkent, Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent, Uzbek State University of World Languages, Tashkent Finance Institute and the second academic lyceum of the Uzbek State University of World Languages.

During the conference, the students simulated work of two committees of the UN General Assembly and the UN Security Council.

At the end of the conference adopted the resolution, which calls the UN member states to strengthen international and regional cooperation to fight illegal production and turnover of narcotics, cooperate with Intepol and UNODC, suspend banking accounts of drug dealers, etc. Within the conference, a play “One Life”, prepared by the students, was presented.
