Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, met with U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor, co-chair of the newly established American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council. The meeting preceded the official launch of the Council in the U.S. capital.

The Council provides a platform to strengthen ties between entrepreneurs from both countries and establish a sustainable institutional framework for joint business initiatives. A memorandum of understanding was signed during the meeting.

The initiative reflects the high level of trust between the presidents of Uzbekistan and the United States. Sergio Gor noted that the U.S. has demonstrated strong commitment over the past year to deepening strategic partnership in Central Asia.

The Council’s first session included participation from business leaders and government officials. Gor emphasized that U.S. President Donald Trump attaches significant importance to Central Asia, particularly Uzbekistan, in global trade and connectivity.

The American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council is expected to expand economic interaction, promote trade and investment, and foster long-term partnerships between companies of both countries. Its activities aim to strengthen bilateral relations, create new jobs, and support a more resilient and prosperous regional economy.
