US Open: Istomin stuns seeded Nicolas Almagro

World number 65th claimed the victory over Spaniard in four sets – 6/3, 6/1, 4/6, and 6/3.

The match lasted an hour and 54 minutes. Denis Istomin served eight breaks and lost three aces of his own. He also served 13 aces and recorded two double faults. Nicolas Almagro registered seven aces and five double faults.

In the second round, Denis Istomin will play against the winner of the match between Tobias Kamke of Germany and Steve Johnson of the USA.
