Unregistered Guest House in Tashkent Discovered Following Tourist Complaint
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Tourism Committee has uncovered an unregistered guest house in Tashkent operating in violation of regulations, the agency’s press service reported.
The inspection was initiated after tourist Y. Amosova booked a stay at the family guest house “Bodomzor” from 4 to 5 August. The property is located on the 2nd Bogi Eram passage, near the Tashkent TV tower and the Anhor canal.
Upon checking in on the evening of 4 August, Amosova discovered bedbugs in her room. Attempts to contact the owners at 22:30 were unsuccessful, forcing the guest to change accommodation. She subsequently filed a complaint with the Tourism Committee.
Officials compared information on Booking.com, Ostrovok, and MyBooking.uz with the Unified Register of family guest houses and hostels. The inspection revealed that “Bodomzor” was not listed in the register and had not undergone state registration as required by law.
Following the investigation, the case was referred to the Tax Committee and the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare Committee under the Ministry of Health for further review within their jurisdiction.
