UNESCO Supports Adoption of European Quality Standards in Uzbekistan’s Vocational Education

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — UNESCO is supporting Uzbekistan in developing sustainable global cooperation in the field of vocational education quality assurance.

Within the framework of the project “Development of Employment Skills in Rural Areas of Uzbekistan,” funded by the European Union and implemented by UNESCO, international standards and best practices in quality assurance are being introduced into the country’s vocational education system. The program draws on the European EQAVET system as well as practices from Estonia, Romania, Albania, France, and New Zealand.

On 13 February, a working meeting was held between the National Agency for Education Quality Assurance of Uzbekistan and the National Centre for Vocational Education and Training Development of Romania.

The parties discussed harmonizing Uzbekistan’s vocational education system with European standards, adapting international best practices to national conditions, and developing quality assurance mechanisms.

As a result of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed, establishing long-term collaboration and the exchange of expertise between the two countries.
