UNESCO official visits National Library of Uzbekistan

During the visit, General-Secretary of National Commission of UNESCO affairs of Uzbekistan Alisher Ikramov and head of UNESCO office in Uzbekistan Krista Pikkat accompanied Mr. Gijzen.

Within the visit, Gijzen familiarized with the Symposeiums Palace and halls of library, children room, bookshop, registration hall. Gizjen and Pikkat familiarized with rare books and manuscripts, stored in the library.

UNESCO official highly rated work of National Library on preserving cultural heritage and was impressed with the collection of rare books.
