UNESCO Expresses Gratitude to Uzbekistan for Successful Hosting of 43rd General Conference in Samarkand
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, which concluded in Samarkand, issued a statement expressing deep appreciation to the people and Government of Uzbekistan for the exemplary organization of this major international forum.
The conference was held from 30 October to 13 November at the invitation of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In its final document, delegates particularly highlighted the warm welcome, heartfelt hospitality, and comprehensive conditions provided for the effective conduct of the session.
Participants emphasized that hosting the conference in Samarkand—one of the greatest centers of world civilization—served as an important symbol of respect for Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage. The statement also noted the high level of preparation and coordination that ensured full participation by all member states, associate members, and observers.
UNESCO conveyed sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, for his support, personal attention, and active involvement in the forum.
