UNDP representatives pays visit to Compulsory Enforcement Bureau

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An official meeting between the leadership of the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau at the General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Development Program Office in the Republic of Uzbekistan was held.

The meeting was attended by the Acting Permanent Representative of UNDP in Uzbekistan F. Karakhanov, senior staff of the Bureau, representatives of UNDP and the media.

In particular, within the framework of the meeting, an official ceremony for the transfer of computer equipment and software provided to the Bureau as technical assistance was held, and the parties signed an act of acceptance in the presence of the media.

The provided practical assistance is important in automating and digitizing accounting procedures for executive documents, as well as strengthening the material and technical base of the Bureau in the process of collecting money, expanding state interactive services, and interacting with government agencies, banks and other organizations.

About 1000 units of modern computer equipment and software were transferred to the Bureau as part of a joint project of the UNDP and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan “Combating Corruption through Effective, Accountable and Transparent Management Institutions in Uzbekistan” implemented by UNDP. Computer equipment was procured through the UNDP Procurement Center, in accordance with internationally recognized procurement procedures.

In addition, during the event, UNDP representatives familiarized themselves with the activities of the Information and Communication Technologies Implementation Center of the Bureau.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on further cooperation in anti-corruption issues, the implementation of effective, accountable and transparent governance institutions.
