Underground Drug Lab Dismantled in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Security Service officers uncovered an underground drug laboratory in the Sergeli district of Tashkent, the agency reported.
According to the investigation, the lab was organized by a 23-year-old resident of the Chinaz district in Tashkent region, who set up drug production in a rented apartment.
During operational activities, authorities seized approximately 3.5 kilograms of pregabalin, valued at around 4.5 billion soums. Additionally, 20 liters of liquid and 25 kilograms of powdered chemical precursors were confiscated, along with equipment used for producing and packaging illegal substances.
Another resident of Chinaz, serving as the lab’s chemist, was also detained. Investigators found that the suspects initially distributed controlled substances via a Telegram-based online store before becoming involved in their production.
A criminal case has been opened, the suspects are in custody, and investigative actions are ongoing.
