Ahmed Shahid’s visit to Uzbekistan is his first country visit to Central Asia.

Within the framework of the visit, the UN delegation will get acquainted with the measures taken in Uzbekistan in the sphere of ensuring freedom of religion and belief, positive experience of Uzbekistan in this field, and will make appropriate recommendations.

The UN official will hold meetings with representatives of state organizations and civil society institutions, diplomatic corps, accredited in Uzbekistan.

The UN delegation will hold meetings at the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, with the Ombudsman, at the ministries of foreign affairs, internal affairs, justice, public education, higher and secondary special education, the Constitutional and Supreme Courts, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Committee for Religious Affairs, the Women’s Committee and the Uzbekistan Muslim Board .

The UN delegation will also meet with representatives of national cultural centers and religious confessions, citizens’ self-government bodies, people’s reception rooms of the President of Uzbekistan.
