Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sherzod Asadov attended a videoconference organized by the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported.
The event was attended by the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Europe, Central Asia and the Americas Miroslav Jenča, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Central Asia and Head of the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Natalia Gherman, deputy foreign ministers of all Central Asian countries and Afghanistan, as well as the EU and OSCE representatives.
Issues of joint efforts in combating COVID-19 pandemic at the regional and international levels were discussed, views were exchanged on strengthening cooperation between Central Asian states in the post-crisis period, as well as the UN's role in supporting joint efforts in this direction.
