UN and Swiss Delegation Familiarized Themselves with Ishonch Foundation’s Educational Projects in Bukhara
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation comprising representatives from the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Embassy of Switzerland in Uzbekistan, and the United Nations visited Bukhara today to review projects funded by the Ishonch Foundation.
The delegation inspected inclusive classrooms and a STEM laboratory at General Education School No. 1 in Romitan District, and evaluated the learning environment for children with special educational needs.
They also visited the Bukhara Regional Pedagogical Center, where discussions were held on developing teachers’ professional competencies, implementing digital technologies, and promoting inclusive teaching methods.
The Ishonch Foundation, established in 2022 under a restitution agreement between Switzerland and Uzbekistan, aims to return illegally acquired assets for the benefit of the Uzbek people.
The foundation currently has a budget of US$313 million, of which US$87 million has been invested in programs enhancing access to and quality of healthcare and education.
In the education sector, the foundation’s work focuses on two main areas: expanding access to learning through digital technologies and implementing projects to improve school sanitation, modernize heating systems, and engage the public in the governance of educational institutions.
