Two State Executors Detained for Corruption in Syrdarya

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Syrdarya region, the State Security Service has detained two state executors from the Mirzoabad District Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement (BCE) in connection with an anti-corruption operation.

According to the investigation, in December 2021, the Gulistan Interdistrict Court issued a writ of execution requiring the collection of 30 million soms from a debtor to compensate the claimant for material and moral damages. One of the detained executors was handling this case.

For personal gain, the officials reportedly received 20 million soms from the debtor, allegedly to terminate the enforcement proceedings. Of this amount, 14 million soms were handed over to the claimant with a receipt confirming that the debtor was in a difficult financial situation and that no claims remained.

The remaining 6 million soms were divided between the executors, 3 million each, in front of the district prosecutor’s office, where they were apprehended with physical evidence in their possession.

A criminal case has been initiated by the Syrdarya Regional Prosecutor’s Office, and the detainees have been placed in pre-trial detention.
