Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Investigative actions are being taken in a criminal case regarding the Sardoba reservoir in Syrdarya region, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan reports.

Currently, in this criminal case, 2 persons have been attracted as suspects, in respect of whom the preventive measure “detention” has been selected.

In order to prevent cases of obstruction of the establishment of truth in the case, the remaining details cannot be disclosed.

Investigative actions are ongoing.

On 1 May, a criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 207 (negligence, that is, failure or improper performance by an official of a state body, organization with state participation or self-government body of citizens of their duties due to a negligent or dishonest attitude towards them, which caused damage or substantial harm to the rights or legally protected interests of citizens or state or public interests) and under paragraph “b”, part 2, article 258 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Violation of safety rules for mining, construction or explosive work, which entailed serious consequences).

The investigation of the criminal case was entrusted to the bodies of the State Security Service.
