Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A 42-year-old man living in Andijan region was positively tested with a diagnosis of COVID-19 and was admitted to the regional infectious diseases hospital.

He was diagnosed with severe COVID-19 infection and bilateral pneumonia. The disease was accompanied by complications of acute respiratory and cardiovascular failure. The patient also suffered from concomitant diseases such as ischemic heart disease, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, grade 4 obesity.

During the treatment of the patient in the hospital, doctors carried out online consultations and consultations, the treatment process was carried out on the basis of expert recommendations.

However, despite resuscitation procedures performed by doctors in accordance with standards, the patient’s condition deteriorated and he died from acute respiratory and cardiovascular failure and pulmonary edema.

A 51-year-old man living in Almazar district of Tashkent was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Central Hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a diagnosis of COVID-19.

He was diagnosed with severe COVID-19 infection and bilateral pneumonia. The patient had a history of acute respiratory and cardiovascular failure.

He also had comorbidities such as ischemic heart disease, severe diabetes mellitus, occlusion of both femoral arteries, left femoral artery stenosis, and chronic pancreatitis.

The patient underwent online consultations and specialist consultations, the treatment process was carried out in accordance with the established standards.

Due to major complications of the disease, the patient’s condition worsened, and he died of acute respiratory and cardiovascular failure, despite full-scale standard resuscitation procedures performed by specialists.

Chief Sanitary Inspector Nurmat Atabekov, speaking at a briefing on 21 July, told why some patients die from COVID-19, and some do not.

According to him, it depends on various factors, including age and immunity.

The most vulnerable group, according to international data, are people aged 65+. Therefore, any infectious disease in some people passes in a mild form, while others go to intensive care. As a rule, people die from pneumonia,” Atabekov said.
