Two Interpol-Fugitives Extradited from Georgia to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At Tbilisi International Airport, Georgian authorities handed over two individuals to representatives of the National Central Bureau of Interpol under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan. The individuals had been wanted internationally on charges of large-scale fraud and human trafficking.

Georgian law enforcement officers detected cross-border movements of the fugitives and apprehended them within the country.

The subsequent transfer to Uzbekistan was made possible through coordinated cooperation between the Interpol National Bureaus of Tashkent and Tbilisi, as well as negotiations on Interpol’s international platforms.

At the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan and based on the investigation materials, the Ministry of Justice of Georgia approved the extradition request.

Upon arrival in Tashkent, the individuals were handed over to law enforcement authorities for criminal prosecution.
