Two Detained in Namangan Region for Illegal Cryptocurrency Transactions Worth 735 Million Soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Two local residents have been detained in Namangan Region on suspicion of conducting illegal cryptocurrency transactions totaling 735 million Uzbek soums.

According to the regional Department of Internal Affairs, a 27-year-old resident of the Yangiabad mahalla carried out 20 transactions worth 283 million soums from December 2024 to August 2025 without the required license.

Another resident of the Zarkent mahalla conducted 45 transactions totaling 352.7 million soums during the same period.

Criminal cases have been opened for both incidents, and investigative actions are underway.
