Two Children Remain Under Medical Observation in Jizzakh Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Two children in Jizzakh region remain under medical observation after previously experiencing mild symptoms of illness, the Ministry of Health reported.
According to the ministry, on 9 October 2025, several preschool institutions in the Forish district recorded cases of elevated temperature, nausea, and short-term digestive disorders among children. All affected children received timely medical care; their condition is stable, and there is no threat to life or health.
“At present, only two children remain under medical supervision as a preventive measure,” the Ministry of Health stated. Preliminary findings suggest the illness may have been food-related, but the final cause will be determined after laboratory testing is completed. Specialists from the sanitary-epidemiological service have already collected food and water samples for analysis.
According to the district hokimiyat, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on 9 October, 37 children aged 3 to 7 from kindergartens No. 1, 3, 5, and 7 sought medical assistance. The children reported fever, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weakness.
A preliminary conclusion by the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Safety and Public Health of Jizzakh region indicated that the mass illness was likely caused by violations of sanitary rules during the transportation, storage, and handling of food products, which probably led to the digestive disorders observed among the children.
The Ministry of Health urged citizens to remain calm and refrain from spreading unverified information, emphasizing that the situation is fully under control of the relevant authorities.
