Two Avalanches Reported in Tashkent Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Two avalanches were recorded on March 30 in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region, in the Chimgan area at altitudes ranging from 1,900 to 3,000 meters above sea level, according to UzHydromet.
Each avalanche had an estimated volume of around 300 cubic meters. No casualties or damage were reported.
According to the meteorological service, the avalanches were caused by recent precipitation and sharp fluctuations in air temperature.
Specialists note that short-term rains and thunderstorms are expected in the coming week. At the same time, temperatures in some areas may reach up to 30°C.
Rain and thunderstorms are forecast in the northwestern regions of the country, as well as in the afternoon hours in parts of central and southern regions.
