Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Twenty-two children who had been receiving treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital of Ferghana Region and the Children's Hospital of the city of Ferghana have been discharged following an improvement in their condition.
They remain under outpatient supervision, and several more children are expected to be discharged before the end of the day.
The mass poisoning occurred on 21 February, when children from several kindergartens in Ferghana sought medical attention complaining of fever, weakness, nausea, and diarrhea. Physicians diagnosed 62 children with acute alimentary diarrhea.
Specialists carried out inspections of kindergarten kitchens and food supplier facilities. Laboratory samples have been sent for analysis, with results expected to be made public within ten days. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.
