Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ankara, as part of the fight against the spread of coronavirus, the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs has established additional requirements for international freight traffic throughout the country.
If symptoms of the disease are detected during a driver’s health check, foreign drivers will be denied entry to Turkey, and Turkish citizens will be quarantined.
In the absence of symptoms of the disease:
- in respect of transit traffic through Turkey, vehicles will be equipped with a tracking system (GPS), it is allowed to stay in Turkey from 24 to 36 hours, depending on the distance to the border gate. This period can be extended up to 48 hours, taking into account the condition of roads and weather conditions. Vehicles must follow a predetermined route, stations / parking spaces;
- in respect of cargo transportation to / from Turkey, foreign drivers are allowed to enter Turkey without the expiration of a 14-day quarantine period, provided that they leave the territory of Turkey within 72 hours (can be extended taking into account the condition of roads, weather conditions, customs procedures );
- Turkish drivers can leave the country without the expiration of 14 days;
- The transport of medicines, medical devices and essential food products will be given priority.
Cargo transportation on a ship (RoRo Travels) is carried out without the participation of drivers (only semi-trailers / trailers are accepted).
In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan recommends that individuals and legal entities planning to carry out international freight transportation through the territory of Turkey take this decision of the Turkish side into account.
