Turkish delegation visits Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Turkey led by the Mayor of Ankara, Mansur Yavaş, is paying a visit to Uzbekistan.

Within the visit, a meeting was held with the khokim of the city of Tashkent, Jakhongir Artikhojayev.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations.

Khokim of Tashkent city noted that the Memorandum of understanding, cooperation and establishment of fraternal ties is of great importance in further development of long-term and friendly relations between the two countries and will contribute to strengthening and expanding cooperation in the fields of economy, industry, urban planning, art, culture and tourism.

Mansur Yavaş, in turn, emphasized that currently there are 3 streets in Ankara named after Uzbekistan, 12 streets are called Tashkent, 8 are Samarkand, 11 are Bukhara and suggested to name one of the streets of Tashkent after Ankara.
