Turkey receives status of SCO dialogue partner

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turkey received a status of dialogue partner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Secretary-General of the SCO Dmitry Mezentsev signed a corresponding memorandum in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on 26 April 2013.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is a permanent intergovernmental international organisation creation of which was proclaimed on 15 June 2001 in Shanghai (China) by the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People’s Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

India Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan have observer status at the SCO. Belarus and Sri Lanka are dialogue partners of the SCO.
