Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Surkhandarya Regional Council (Kengash) of people’s representatives convened a session.

The meeting was attended by deputies of the regional Kengash, deputy khokims of the region, heads of departments of the regional khokimiyat, khokim of the region and heads of law enforcement agencies. Also the meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov.

In accordance with article 98 of the Constitution of Uzbekistan, as well as article 2 of the Law on Local Self-Government, a candidate for the khokims of the regional administration is appointed by the President of Uzbekistan to the Council after consultations with each party group in the Regional Council of People’s Deputies.

According to Aziz Abdukhakimov, the President of Uzbekistan nominated Tura Bobolov for the administration of the region. Consultations were held with each of the party groups on the candidacy.

At a meeting of the Surkhandarya Regional Council of People’s Deputies, a proposal was made to approve Bobolov Tours as khokim of Surkhandarya Region in accordance with Section 2 of the Law on Local Self-Government. Deputies unanimously approved Tura Bobolov as khokim of Surkhandarya region.

On 1 May 2019, Tura Bobolov was approved as the khokim of the region.
