Trump Claims Maduro Captured and Removed from Venezuela

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro has been captured and taken out of the country along with his wife.

“President Nicolás Maduro and his wife have been captured and removed from the country,” Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social.

U.S. media report that the operation involved the elite U.S. Army special operations unit Delta Force, which carries out classified missions and specializes in counterterrorism operations.

The broadcaster recalls that in 2019, fighters from this unit conducted an operation that resulted in the killing of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the terrorist group Islamic State (IS, banned in Russia).

Meanwhile, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said that Nicolás Maduro will face justice. He published the statement on the social media platform X.

“A new dawn for Venezuela. The tyrant is gone. Now he will finally answer for his crimes,” Landau wrote.
