Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin signed a protocol and exchanged instruments of ratification, officially bringing the Treaty on Allied Relations between the two countries into force.

The ceremony took place in Khujand in the presence of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The treaty was initially signed on 18 April 2023, in Dushanbe during a high-level bilateral summit.

With the exchange of ratification documents, the agreement has now come into effect, marking a new phase of strategic partnership and further strengthening comprehensive cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
