Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Cooperation in improving the transport system was proposed by the representatives of the World Bank and the Korean company KT (Korea Telecom) to Tashkent city administration, the press service of the Tashkent city administration said in a statement.
At a meeting with experts on transport issues of the World Bank, issues of developing a grant for a pre-project survey of the transport network and joint study of innovative methods for obtaining and processing information about passenger mobility were discussed.
In turn, the Korean company “KT” proposes to introduce in the capital an automated system of payment for public transport, which will allow passengers not to use cash when traveling in a bus, subway or taxi.
Representatives of " KT " noted that the company has implemented this system in almost all cities of South Korea.
As part of the project, they are ready to provide Tashkent with points of sale, to create multi-use card replenishment points, as well as information processing centers.
