Transit of Russian Gas through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan to Reach 6 Billion Cubic Meters

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Kazakhstan’s gas transportation company QazaqGaz forecasts that in 2025 the volume of Russian gas transited to Uzbekistan will reach 6 billion cubic meters, up from 5.6 billion cubic meters in 2024, Kazinform reports.

Russian gas supplies to Uzbekistan began in 2023 via the Central Asia–Center pipeline. Officials at Intergaz Central Asia noted that the pipeline underwent major repairs, during which over 10,000 defects were identified, six thousand of which have already been addressed.

Currently, daily deliveries of Russian gas to Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan amount to approximately 18 million cubic meters.

In the future, transit is planned to increase to 11 billion cubic meters per year. Intergaz Central Asia has stated its readiness to continue modernizing infrastructure to accommodate growing supply volumes.

As of early October 2025, Uzbekistan purchased foreign gas worth 932.3 million dollars, a decrease of 29.7% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the country increased its exports of domestic gas to 546.2 million dollars, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 15.4%.
