Train Service Resumes on Tashkent Metro’s Above-Ground Line

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The above-ground line of the Tashkent Metro has officially reopened for passengers, the metro’s press service reported.

Earlier, social media posts claimed that the circular line remained out of service. The metro administration refuted these reports, clarifying that train operations were fully restored across the entire section as of 1 November. Currently, 12 trains are operating on the line, with an interval of about seven minutes between departures.

Representatives of the metro urged social media administrators and users to share only verified information from official sources.

Train service on the above-ground circular line had been suspended at the end of May. Initially, the Kipchak and Turan stations were closed for maintenance, followed by a full suspension of operations from Yangiabad to Kuruuvchilar on 28 June, covering six more stations. Later, on 2 August, service was temporarily halted between Technopark and Yangiabad.

During the maintenance period, specialists eliminated previously detected defects, performed track alignment, replaced worn-out sleepers, and inspected both the drainage system and the crushed stone ballast condition.

The reopening of the upgraded 30 Years of Independence of Uzbekistan line was initially scheduled for 18 October, but was postponed to 1 November due to technical reasons.
