Tower Crane Collapses at Construction Site in Chilanzar, Tashkent: One Dead, Two Injured

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the evening of 8 September, a tower crane fell at a construction site on Tirsakabod Street in the Chilanzar district of Tashkent, resulting in one fatality and two injuries, according to the Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs.

The incident occurred around 18:00 during crane installation, when safety regulations were reportedly not followed.

A temporary worker, L.A., born in 2000, died on the spot from injuries incompatible with life. Two other temporary workers, I.Q., born in 2004, and M.A., born in 2000, sustained various injuries and were hospitalized for medical treatment.

The Chilanzar District Department of Internal Affairs has opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 257 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, specifying points “a” and “b.”

Investigative actions are ongoing, including checks into the circumstances of the accident and compliance with safety regulations at the construction site.
