Tourist Exchange Between Uzbekistan and Japan Shows Significant Growth in 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tourist travel between Uzbekistan and Japan demonstrated solid growth in 2025, according to data from the National Statistics Committee.

In January–November 2025, 2,700 citizens of Uzbekistan visited Japan for tourism purposes, which is 16.2 percent more than in the same period last year.

Tourism remained the primary purpose of travel, accounting for 2,200 visitors. In addition, 294 Uzbek citizens traveled to Japan to visit relatives, 137 for education, 58 on official business trips, and four for medical treatment.

At the same time, a notable increase was recorded in interest among Japanese citizens in visiting Uzbekistan. Over the first 11 months of 2025, around 30,000 Japanese nationals visited the country, representing a 41.1 percent increase year on year.

Tourism dominated the structure of visits by Japanese citizens, with 27,600 arrivals. A further 1,500 visitors came to see relatives, 784 traveled for official purposes, 71 for education, and one person for commercial purposes.
