Total Assets of Uzbek Banks Reach 863 Trillion Soums, Capital Grows by 21% — Central Bank Data
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Central Bank of Uzbekistan has published data on the state of the country’s banking sector as of 1 September 2025, indicating steady growth in key financial indicators.
According to the regulator, total banking assets rose from 731.6 trillion soums at the beginning of September 2024 to 863.1 trillion soums, reflecting nominal growth of 18% and real growth of 19% after adjusting for inflation.
Loan portfolios increased from 509.7 trillion soums to 581.1 trillion soums (a nominal rise of 14% and a real increase of 15%), while household and corporate deposits grew from 283.1 trillion soums to 363.7 trillion soums, up 28% in nominal terms and 29% in real terms.
Aggregate capital in the sector reached 128.8 trillion soums, marking a 21% increase year-on-year.
State-owned institutions continue to hold the largest share of banking assets, accounting for 65% of the total.
The sector’s leaders by assets are NBU with 143.96 trillion soums (17% of total assets), Agrobank with 100.51 trillion soums (12%), Uzpromstroybank with 97.03 trillion soums (11%), Asaka Bank with 60.15 trillion soums (7%), and Kapitalbank with 52.28 trillion soums (6%).
In terms of loan volumes, NBU leads with 105.6 trillion soums (18%), followed by Agrobank with 75.94 trillion soums (13%), Uzpromstroybank with 67.99 trillion soums (12%), Asaka Bank with 40.5 trillion soums (7%), and Ipoteka Bank with 35.64 trillion soums (6%).
Household and corporate deposits are highest at NBU with 48.41 trillion soums (13%), Kapitalbank with 40.05 trillion soums (11%), Agrobank with 26.81 trillion soums (7%), Uzpromstroybank with 25.57 trillion soums (7%), and People’s Bank with 25.54 trillion soums (7%).
By capital volume, the leading institutions remain NBU with 19.35 trillion soums (15%), Agrobank with 13.72 trillion soums (11%), Uzpromstroybank with 11.2 trillion soums (9%), People’s Bank with 10.12 trillion soums (8%), and Ipoteka Bank with 7.13 trillion soums (6%).
