Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At a video-conference, held on 12 August under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, dedicated to the issues of increasing and efficient use of the export potential of industries and regions, attracting and developing investments, primarily foreign direct investments, expanding the scale of localization of production , the head of state raised the issue of expanding the scale of localization of production.
The President especially emphasized that an important factor in the sustainable development of the country’s economy is the production of goods with high added value through the deep processing of local raw materials and the production of import-substituting components. Today in Uzbekistan, all the necessary conditions are created for the development of localization and industrial cooperation between enterprises.
The Uzcharmsanoat Association, following the instructions and tasks set at this video conference, pays particular attention to the issue of supporting industry enterprises engaged in the production of import-substituting, export-oriented products from local raw materials.
According to statistics, up to 10 thousand tons of polyurethane per year worth about US$20 million are imported into our country from abroad. About 5 thousand tons are used in the leather industry for the production of shoe soles. The other half goes to the automotive and furniture industries. Now, the production of this type of product has begun in Uzbekistan.
Top Smart Line LLC, located in Tashkent, is so far the only company producing polyurethane not only in Uzbekistan, but throughout Central Asia. It is very important that at the first stage the production of products at the enterprise will be localized by 50 percent.
To create and launch a new enterprise, in the work of which European technologies were introduced, more than US$5 million were attracted. Its production capacity is 20 thousand tons of polyurethane raw materials per year. 10 thousand tons of products will be directed to the needs of domestic manufacturers, and the remaining 10 thousand tons will be delivered abroad. Revenue from export activities will amount to US$20 million. This volume of production will also provide other countries of Central Asia with raw materials. Moreover, polyurethane is used in many industries, for example, for the manufacture of armchairs, automotive components and adhesive products. The most interesting thing is that the technology of its production can be changed in accordance with the request of the client.
At present, foreign specialists are involved in the enterprise, and the production process has already begun. The first samples of polyurethane raw materials were tested for strength and quality by local enterprises.
In order to exchange views on expanding joint work on the development of the enterprise, a visit was made by the leadership of the Uzcharmsanoat Association to this enterprise. In the framework of the round table with the management and leading specialists of the enterprise, issues of accelerating the production process and increasing production volumes of this import-substituting raw material in the future were discussed. Also, the leadership of the Uzcharmsanoat Association decided to provide practical assistance in resolving issues facing the enterprise.
