Timur Kapadze to Continue with Uzbekistan National Team as Fabio Cannavaro’s Assistant

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Ravshan Irmatov, First Vice President of the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA), announced that Timur Kapadze will continue working with the national team as assistant coach to Fabio Cannavaro.

According to Irmatov, this decision was made to ensure continuity and stability in the team’s development.

“Timur Kapadze will continue his role as assistant to head coach Fabio Cannavaro,” Irmatov emphasized.

He also expressed deep gratitude to all specialists who contributed to the historic qualification of Uzbekistan for the FIFA World Cup, highlighting the significant roles of Srečko Katanec and Timur Kapadze.

Kapadze commented on his continued involvement with the national team:

“I wish the team success. For more than four years, I’ve worked within the Uzbekistan national team system and believe I’ve fulfilled my duties with dignity. I sincerely wish the new head coach success and victories,” he said.

He added that he will assist the team during the upcoming training camps:

“I’ll provide the necessary support during this and the next training camp — and then we’ll see what happens next.”

It should be recalled that 2006 World Cup champion Fabio Cannavaro was officially appointed head coach of the Uzbekistan national team.
