Timur Kapadze Steps Down as Assistant Coach of Uzbekistan’s National Football Team
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Assistant coach of the Uzbekistan national football team Timur Kapadze has submitted a request to the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) to step down from his position, expressing his intention to continue his career on a new path, the UFA press service said in a statement.
According to the statement, Kapadze has received a new offer and plans to continue his work as a head coach. The UFA leadership has shown full respect for his decision and supported his choice.
The association expressed sincere gratitude to Timur Kapadze for his professionalism, dedication, and contribution to the development of Uzbek football, wishing him continued success in his coaching career.
Kapadze was appointed as head coach of the Uzbekistan national team in January 2025 and later joined the coaching staff as assistant coach in October 2025 following the appointment of Fabio Cannavaro as head coach.
