Timur Kapadze Bids Farewell to Uzbekistan’s National Football Team

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Former head coach and later assistant coach of Uzbekistan’s national football team, Timur Kapadze, has published a farewell message on his Instagram account.

In his message, he expressed gratitude to the players, coaching staff, management of the Uzbekistan Football Association, and fans for their trust, support, and teamwork.

“My time with the national team has come to an end. These years were filled with emotions, victories, and unforgettable experiences.

Special thanks to all the fans for their constant support, energy, and faith in the team. I am proud to have been part of this journey. I wish the team success and new achievements in the future!” Kapadze wrote.

According to the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA), the coach requested to be released from his position after receiving several offers from both domestic clubs and teams abroad.

He plans to continue his career as a head coach in the near future.

The UFA expressed its gratitude to Timur Kapadze for his contribution to the development of national football and wished him success in his new professional endeavors. Under his leadership, the national team achieved significant results and qualified for the World Cup.

After Fabio Cannavaro was appointed head coach in October 2025, Kapadze remained part of the national team’s staff, assisting the Italian specialist during his adaptation period.
