Ticket Offices at 19 Tashkent Metro Stations to Close Starting from 1 February

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 February, ticket offices at 19 additional Tashkent Metro stations will be closed, the Tashkent Metro State Unitary Enterprise reported.

The affected stations include Yangihayot, Sergeli, Uzgarish, Choshtepa, Milliy Bog, Mustaqillik Maydoni, Amir Temur Khiyoboni, Pushkin, Dustlik, Aviasozlar, Toshkent, Oybek, Kosmonavtlar, Uzbekistan, Gafur Gulom, Chorsu, Turkiston, Shahriston, and Bodomzor.

Information kiosks will be installed at the stations to issue single-use QR tickets.

Passengers will have access to more than ten payment methods, including bank and transport cards, facial recognition (Face ID), palm recognition (PalmPay), and mobile applications.

The closure of ticket offices is expected to speed up ticket purchasing and simplify fare payments. Based on passenger feedback, similar closures will be gradually implemented at other stations.

Earlier, on 9 December, 2025, ticket offices at 16 stations were closed. The positions of cashiers will be abolished, and employees will be offered free retraining courses in various fields, including accounting, sewing, and confectionery.
