Tian Shan Brown Bear Found Dead in Bostanlyk District

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The death of a brown bear in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region, previously reported on social media, has been confirmed.

According to the regional Ecology Department, specialists from the district ecology office, together with employees of the Burchmullinsky State Forestry, were dispatched to the scene.

The investigation revealed that the bear, belonging to the Tian Shan brown bear species, died in the “Chulokmergan” area of the Korangy-Tokay forestry. Preliminary data indicate that the animal fell from a cliff approximately 70–80 meters high.

The bear’s body is temporarily held at the Burchmullinsky forestry pending a forensic examination. Once the results are received, specialists will provide a legal assessment of the incident.
