Three Killed, One Injured in Private House Fire in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 16 February, a fire broke out in a private house on Beltepa Street in the Shaykhantakhur district of Tashkent, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuries to one, who was hospitalized, according to the Millar TV program.

The fire was reported to the Tashkent Main Department of Emergency Situations at 20:51. Firefighters arrived at the scene within three minutes and extinguished the fire by 21:38.

After the blaze was put out, the bodies of three victims—a mother and her two minor children—were discovered.

A neighbor said that attempts to enter the room where the victims were trapped were hindered by the flames.

“Our daughter-in-law and two nephews were in the room and couldn’t get out. We couldn’t enter because of the fire. We managed to get in from the neighbors’ side by breaking through a wall, but it was already too late,” the eyewitness said.

A preliminary investigation into the incident is underway.
