Third Meeting of Central Asian and South Korean Parliaments Concludes with Adoption of Joint Declaration
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The third meeting of the heads of parliaments of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea concluded, focusing on “Cooperation for Human Dignity, Social Justice, and Environmental Protection.”
During the plenary session and thematic discussions, participants explored ways to deepen parliamentary cooperation in enhancing human dignity, ensuring social justice, and protecting the environment.
Special attention was given to economic collaboration and digital transformation. Proposals were developed to advance the digital economy, implement innovative solutions, and support small and medium-sized enterprises.
In the context of environmental and “green” policies, measures to mitigate climate change, ensure sustainable use of natural resources, improve environmental legislation, and strengthen parliamentary oversight were discussed.
Participants also exchanged views on human rights protection and gender equality. Proposals were made to continue cooperation in gender policy, youth initiatives, and educational and cultural exchanges.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of a Joint Declaration, formalizing the agreements reached. The parties agreed to continue collaboration in parliamentary diplomacy, share best legislative practices, and expand dialogue platforms.
The fourth meeting of the heads of parliaments of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea is scheduled for 2026 in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
