Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 June, the Youth and Cinema Week kicked off in Tashkent at the House of Cinematographers. It is timed to the Youth Day, which is celebrated in Uzbekistan on 30 June.
The week "Youth and Cinema" began with the screening of Khilol Nasimov’s film "Vatan ostonasi" and a creative meeting with the film crew.
Within the framework of the Week, screenings of such films as "Kim dey seni", "Matonat maktabi", "Talvasa", "Taste of the sun", "Mukhabbat bakhori", "101 flights", "Peri’s gift", as well as short feature films are planned. shot by young filmmakers as part of the Debut 2020 and Debut Start 2021 projects.
In addition to watching films, Youth and Cinema Week will be full of educational events, as well as competitive projects aimed at supporting talented youth and involving them in film projects.
Thus, it is planned to conduct casting of film projects that young filmmakers will begin to implement this year with the support of the Cinematography Agency of Uzbekistan, the State Unitary Enterprise “Yoshlik Film Studio”, and the National Center for the Development of Cinematography.
A presentation of creative works for the international competition "Cinema in Five Days" is also planned, which will be held as part of the XIV Tashkent International Film Festival, a presentation of the activities and tasks of the Uzbekmultfilm studio, "Open Day" at the branch of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography in Tashkent, aimed at familiarizing with the activities of the institute.
In addition, master classes will be held for young filmmakers in such areas as "Staging", "Cameramanship", "Fine Solutions in Cinema", "Director’s Look", "The Role of Makeup in Cinematography".
One of the key events of the Week will be the signing ceremony of cooperation agreements between the Film Agency and higher educational institutions to attract students to film projects in 2022.
The culminating event of the Week will be the ceremony of awarding diplomas to the winners of the project for professional young filmmakers under the motto "Yangi Uzbekistonda inson kadrini uluglash!" and presentation of certificates and souvenirs to the winners of master classes.
Note that the Week "Youth and Cinema" will last until July 3 this year. Its organizers are the Cinematography Agency of Uzbekistan, the State Unitary Enterprise “Yoshlik Film Studio”, the National Center for the Development of Cinematography, the VGIK branch in Tashkent.

It is young people with their modern views, creative thinking and new ideas that are the future of our cinema, those to whom we entrust the development of this most important area of art. That is why work is continuously underway to launch a number of film projects with the participation of young people,” said Firdavs Abdukhalikov, Director General of the Cinema Agency.
