The Uzbek-Estonian Business Forum and "B2B" meeting takes place in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan together with the Ministry of Economy and Industry organized an Uzbek-Estonian business forum and B2B meeting with the business circles of the two countries on 31 May 2019.
The goal is to discuss issues of further expanding cooperation in the trade, economic, investment, transport and communications and information technology fields.
The Estonian delegation included leaders of more than ten leading companies, including infrastructure and logistics companies, ICT firms.
The Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications of Estonia, Mr. Taavi Aas, stressed that the Estonian side regards Uzbekistan as a key partner in the region and is interested in further expanding fruitful cooperation. Particularly marked are the impressive rates of economic growth in Uzbekistan, which lay a good foundation for the development of business contacts.
The main objectives of the visit of the delegation of the Estonian business community are the joint consideration of potential opportunities and the identification of specific promising areas of trade and economic cooperation.
During the Forum, presentations were made on the economic potential of the two countries, the possibilities for implementing specific investment projects, proposals for developing cooperation between small businesses and private entrepreneurship, in trade, transport and logistics.
More than 10 leading Estonian companies, as well as about 30 business entities took part in the “B2B” format between the two countries.
The main topics of the talks were the development of transport and logistics cooperation, projects in the chemical industry, information technology and a number of other areas.
The prospects for further development of the Uzbek-Estonian trade and economic cooperation were discussed, including an exchange of views on the intensification of partnerships between enterprises of Uzbekistan and Estonia.
In the Republic of Uzbekistan, there are 8 enterprises with the participation of investors from Estonia, of which 2 - with 100% Estonian capital.
Accredited representative office of 1 Estonian company. The main areas of their activity are the production of building materials, machine building (trailers for cars and tractors), electrical and pharmaceutical products, as well as the provision of software development services.
