The United States and Uzbekistan Discuss Investments in the Digital Economy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A closed-door roundtable for executives was held in Washington, D.C., focused on strengthening technological partnership between the United States and Uzbekistan.

The meeting was attended by Sherzod Shermatov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, along with representatives of leading American technology companies. The event was organized and moderated by Elena Son, Executive Director of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce (AUCC).

Participants included representatives from Meta, DataVolt, SuperMicro, Inertial Labs Inc., and Alexandria Transport & the National Center for Energy Analytics.

The discussion focused on prospects for strategic investments in Uzbekistan’s rapidly growing digital sector. Participants reviewed current government support measures and tax incentives offered to foreign IT companies through IT Park Uzbekistan, as well as strategies for creating high-skilled, well-paid jobs for youth and strengthening the country’s human capital.

Minister Sherzod Shermatov emphasized that Uzbekistan is steadily pursuing digital transformation and is open to deepening cooperation with global technology leaders interested in joint projects and investments in the country’s innovative economy.
