Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - As part of the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 16 December 2019 “On Preschool Education and Upbringing”, a round table on the topic "Professional standard for a teacher of preschool education" with the participation of specialists from the State Inspectorate for the Supervision of Education Quality, the Ministry of Preschool Education, Ministry of Public Education, Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, State Pedagogical Institute named after Nizami, Institute for Retraining and Further Training of Heads and Specialists of Preschool Educational Organizations.

The Ministry of Preschool Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan is constantly working to improve the quality of the educational process. Today, 34.6% of preschool teachers have higher education, the remaining 65.4% are educators with secondary specialized education.

In some regions of the republic, there is a shortage of teaching staff in pre-school education.

In the 2019-2020 academic year, the number of admission quotas to universities in the direction of "Preschool education" increased from 2.3 thousand to 5.8 thousand places.

Also in 2020, to train highly qualified personnel in Tashkent, it is planned to open a branch of the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University.
