Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Patronage” on 16 October 2019.

In accordance with the Law, patronage is a charitable activity carried out by individuals and legal entities in the field of culture and art, science, education, enlightenment and other activities related to the development of culture and art.

Individuals and legal entities have the right to freely carry out patronage activities on the basis of voluntariness and freedom of choice of its goals.

Patronage of activities is carried out on the basis of an agreement concluded between the patron and the recipient of patronage of support.

Also, according to the Law, the state provides support to patronage activities by providing the patrons with benefits and preferences for taxes and other obligatory payments and tariffs.

Patronage activities cannot be carried out at the expense of the state budget.

This Law shall enter into force on the day of its official publication.
