Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During the fifth plenary meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Amendments and Additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Rational Use of Energy ”was considered.

The law is aimed at further rational and efficient use in the economic and social sectors of electric and thermal energy, fuel and other non-traditional energy resources produced in the energy sectors, as well as ensuring the efficiency of energy consumption and improving the legal framework for the provision of services for the implementation of modern energy-saving technologies.

Along with this, the Law establishes a norm on mandatory certification of goods for compliance with energy efficiency indicators. At the same time, the responsible departments are entrusted with the task of determining the state control procedure by approving the methodology for identifying indicators for improving energy efficiency and energy conservation of fuel and energy resources, as well as target indicators, observing legal requirements for the rational use of energy and improving energy efficiency.

The adoption of the Law will serve to optimize energy consumption, conduct system monitoring of energy consumption efficiency and increase real incomes of the population.

Senate members approved this Act.
